Picos de Europa · Los Argüellos · León

For everyone else in the party

Not everyone who comes here fishes. The province has more protected land than it knows what to do with, a city with two thousand years of history, and a kitchen that won Spanish Capital of Gastronomy.

Anglers often arrive with family or friends, and not all of them want to spend the day standing in a river. We plan for that. While the fishing half of the party is on the water, we can organise a full day out for everyone else — or simply point you at the right route, village or restaurant and leave you to it.

One of León's main draws is the Picos de Europa National Park, with walking routes at every level from an easy afternoon to a serious ascent. The province is also threaded with waymarked trails, and thanks to the Zona Alfa project it now holds the largest network of mountain-bike trails in Spain — built by hand and machine, but always to a philosophy of sustainable construction that keeps them visually and environmentally in the landscape.

The city

Two thousand years of León

Twenty-five kilometres down the valley is a city with a Gothic cathedral famous for its glass, the Romanesque basilica of San Isidoro, the Renaissance front of San Marcos, and a Gaudí building most people don't expect to find here. It was named Spanish Capital of Gastronomy in 2018, and the tapas in the Barrio Húmedo are the reason a lot of anglers extend their stay by a night.

Bring the whole party
Tell us who's coming and what they'd rather be doing. We'll build the week around all of it, not just the fishing.
